Driven by a love for her Savior and a passion for animals, Laura King, together with a small and dedicated group of volunteers from St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah, launched Living Creatures Ministry (LCM) in the summer of 2018 as a pro bono branch of Laura's training company. LCM incorporated and filed for 501(c)(3) status in June 2021. Living Creatures Ministry provides training, certification, and insurance for therapy animal programs at WELS churches.

These therapy animals provide their churches with an amazing opportunity to share Christian love and compassion with the members of their communities. LCM animals allow their churches to share love and comfort, establish relationships, and gain the opportunity to begin discussions about our faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Living Creatures Ministry pilot program in Tomah, WI utilizes dogs and cats owned by members of St Paul Lutheran Church. These animals participate in regularly scheduled events at St Paul Elementary school, the Tomah Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center, area nursing homes, and other places in the Tomah area. It is their goal to begin responding to crises in the area to provide comfort to people in great times of need.

The second local branch of LCM launched at Good Shepherd in Cedar Rapids and North Liberty Iowa in 2019.
